One Show in Vancouver before we leave

Our good friend and crazy talented cellist Cris Derkson has organized a show which teams Lightning Dust with a string quartet to perform a selection of our songs. Check it out if you are here in Vancouver...one night only!

You may know Cris from the recorded versions of Highway, Castles and Caves, Dreamer and Take It Home, on all of which she has lent her sublime cello to our music. She also is a composer, solo performer and regular collaborator with Tanya Tagaq and local band ESL.

Spring European Tour

We are extremely happy to tell you that we will be coming back to Europe for one last tour this May! After this Amber and I will get busy touring with Black Mountain for the forseeable future. This tour's gonna be a shorty but we're covering some new ground and hope Italy will like us. Or at least feed us to within an inch of our lives...

ATP

We are very pleased to announce that we are playing the Matt Groening-curated All Tomorrow's Parties festival at Butlin's Minehead, UK May 7 - 9. Too many other killer bands to list here, but suffice to say our minds will be constantly blown while we're on site.

We're also planning a short tour of a few European cities around this. Stay tuned!

Goodbye Tacos, Hello Beemster

Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows and made our North American tour as cool as it was. Special thanks to The Cave Singers for many great nights...and to Mexican food...

We're heading across the pond soon, again with Ashley and Ryan in tow as our band. Europe, ready your stocks of cheese. Check the shows section for dates.

Heading Out

We're getting in the van in a couple of days to begin our largest tour yet of Canada and the US. Five weeks! Joining Amber and Josh in the band as before will be the inimitable duo of Ashley Webber on vocals and bass and Ryan Peters on drums and guitar. We'll be playing many of these shows with our good friends The Cave Singers, who just put out a fantastic new album, Welcome Joy. Hope to see all of our friends new and old out there. 

Last week we celebrated the release of Infinite Light here in Vancouver at The Biltmore. It ruled! I'd like to thank Colin Mckill and Cris Derkson for joining us and filling out the ranks with some string action. Also big ups to Lost Lovers Brigade for playing with us (another Vancouver gem...check 'em out) and Sipreano for keeping the people dancing into the night. And all of  you who came out!

Our new album, Infinite Light, is now out in the world on Jagjaguwar Recordings. Available at cool record stores as an LP record or a compact disc, or as a download from Itunes.

Back Home

We've just returned home from our month-long tour of parts northern. We've had amazing times playing everything from historic soft-seater theatres to clapboard shacks. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us, and also to everyone who just happened to be there.

Particular shout-outs to our partners in musical crime: Bonnie Prince Billy and his kick-ass band (Emmett, Jim, Cheyenne, Josh, Ryder, Pete and DV); Jesse Fischler (you rule); Jon-Rae Fletcher, Crystal and Darcy; Cotton Jones; Hard/Soft Drugs; Family Band; Heavy Feather. You all made the good times rolllll...
